Continuing the legacy of our dear friends at Squirrel Nation and their Squirrel “Celebration” event, The Squirrel Forum is proud to present the Squirrelcation! This first ever annual event is a get-together of squirrel holders, rehabbers, squirrel enthusiasts, vets & vet techs. The Laquinta West in Lakeland, FL is the same location where Squirrel Nation held the Squirrel Celebration event and the hotel staff is extremely squirrel friendly. Yes you may bring your well behaved FL legal squirrel(s)!
Some of the activities include:
- FWRA expert talks on squirrel rehab and care
- Florida F&W biologist guest speaker on habitat loss and the Southern Fox Squirrel Project
- Guest veterinarian keynote speakers
- Auction of squirrel items to benefit The Squirrel Board veterinarian fund to help sick & injured squirrels
- Potluck lunch, dinner, snacks and more
Our 2024 post covid launch is scheduled for the last day in April 2024!
We have made arrangements with the squirrel friendly Laquinta Inn West, Lakeland, FL to block rooms and the meeting area for this time frame. This is a 2 day event!
