Recipes

Does anyone have any healthy squirrel food ball recipes that would include some kind of block wither it be HHB or teklad so a squirrel would get all the nutrients and vitamins they need? I have a very picky eater with MBD.

A picky eater may refuse even the tastiest treat BUT we do our best to make sure they at least have a chance to eat healthy. This is a decent recipe that can be tweaked.
50 g. Good quality rodent block
50 g. Powdered Fox Valley Day One formula—32/40 or 20/50
50 g. Nuts
20 g. Melted coconut oil
Jar of fruit babyfood
Probiotic—or a capsule of acidophilus

In a food processor, grind the rodent block. Combine powdered block, formula, nuts, coconut oil, babyfood and everything else until well blended. Cover and place in the frig for at least 5 hours.
You can scoop out the balls and put them in the freezer in a ziploc bag. Thaw to serve or some squirrels like them frozen. You can also bake the batter in a shallow pan at 200 degrees for an hour and cut into squares.

Get creative. Vary the nuts. Dust them with sessame seeds, switch up the babyfood. Give it a try. Worst case scenario, your darling will have something new to decorate the floor with and the outside squirrels seem to love them. Best of all worlds scenario, sweetie will LOVE them, yum them up and want more.

Good luck!
As you do to the least of these, so you do unto me
